Boys,

I don't know how I am going to get through the following post. Part of me doesn't want to write to you, the other part thinks I need to. I want you to be able to look back, and see actual and physical evidence that God is real, and that His grace is truly sufficient for us.

I wrote previously about how Pop Pop had a mini-stroke. Unfortunately, upon further review, the diagnosis is much more serious. The doctors have detected a tumor on his brain stem. They will not operate on it directly, because it is too dangerous, and the cons outweigh the pros. However, tomorrow they are going to do a full body scan and look for cancer elsewhere. If there is cancer found elsewhere, they can treat that cancer, and hopefully the tumor on the brain would residually be affected. We will know more tomorrow. I haven't let my mind go there yet.

But, I want to tell you that Pop Pop is the strongest man I know....and I don't mean just physically. He took each information from the Dr. in stride. Just the six of us were in the room for the initial meeting with the doctor. The first words out of his mouth were, "I want to be here for my family." They were not words of selfish concern. His only thought was of us. He told Mimi, "God knows." NEVER have I seen Pop Pop's faith waiver, and I don't think I ever will. He's that convinced in the reality of God.

Shortly after that, the four siblings left the room, and we let Mimi and Pop Pop just be together. They called us back in and with Auntie Pam's (Pop Pop's older sister), and Papa (Pop Pop's dad), we joined hands and thanked God for being good. We thanked Him for being Sovereign. We thanked Him for being concerned. Then we asked God to do what only He can do. We have heard the Dr's report. Now we wait for the Lord's report.

Day by Day, each morning His mercies are new.

And that is why we are clinging to HIM who knows all and can do all.
