"Mom, how do babies come out of mom's bellies?" (you were with Shar Shar this weekend and she is pregnant with twins. I think this started the wheels of your little curious mind)

"Moms have special ways to get them out." (there, that should do it.)

"But how? Like they have super powers? (you have no idea child. It sure did take super powers to get you out!)

"Yup". (hoping this answer would shut down the conversation)

"But how do they get them out?" (no such luck)

"Uhmmm...Moms have special openings in their bodies where babies can come out." (there, that should be sufficient)

"Like their belly buttons?" (oh child)

"No. The opening is in a private place..Oh look, Parker just got off the bus!!!" (I quickly diverted your attention. We can pick up this conversation in a few decades)

I am not ready to have this conversation with you Kent. You are only 4!! I am perfectly content having you think that Mom's have super powers and that babies come out of their belly buttons.

Truthfully, re: Auntie Shar Shar, you can just tell him the truth! She has a zipper (as do I) that make the babies coming out MUCH MUCH easier (and avoids the discussion of private openings...)
