So last night I made broccoli for dinner. You boys inhaled the chicken and potatoes, but would not touch the green veggie. I came up with the idea of us eating one at the same time. We each too a piece of broccoli in our hands, we "toasted" the veggie in the middle and said "cheers", and then we popped them in our mouths. You boys were laughing so hard, you forgot that you don't like broccoli.

On November 24th, 1995 your dad and I went on our first date. We were seniors in high school, and he picked me up from my work at Vine and Branches Bookstore, and he took me to see Toy Story at Showplace 12 in Bolingbrook. We didn't know each other extremely well. We had been friends for a few weeks, but I felt very comfortable with him. I talked and talked, and he listened. Your dad was the perfect gentleman. In fact, I was kind of sad that he didn't even try to hold my hand, but I understand now that he was showing me a tremendous amount of respect. I always tell Daddy that even though he was wearing a pink shirt on our date, I overlooked that fashion violation because he smelled SO good!

Two weeks later on December 2nd, we went on another date to Chili's and then went to hang out with our youth group. December 3rd he asked me to be his girlfriend. January 5th was the night of our first kiss...it was the fastest and shortest kiss on record!

let me set the record straight..it was 6 weeks after our first date, and then our first REAL kiss was at the end of May...7 months after we started dating. Mom taught us well.
