Thanksgiving at the Elton's

We had Thanksgiving at Mimi and Pop Pop's this year. We arrived at 1pm and we were scheduled to eat at 2pm. The turkey never got the memo on the start time, and was not done until after 5 pm. Mimi was a bit upset about the delay of the meal, but our family can be flexible, have fun, and find the humor in any and all occasions. You boys played video games while we waited, and your aunts and I sat down and went through all of the Black Friday ads and created a game plan for our shopping spree. We enjoyed a fabulous meal with every possible side one could imagine.

We then held a family talent show, where each person was required to participate. Mimi and Pop Pop did a puppet show of the Gingerbread Man story, Parker did a magic trick, Kenters danced to "Ice Ice Baby", Uncle Richie caught marshmallows in his mouth, Uncle J did a series of push-ups with you both sitting on his back, Daddy dislocated his arm, Auntie J and I did a routine to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody", The Sidell family did a circus tumbling routine, and Papa and Auntie Pam (Pop Pop's sister) danced to "Come Fly With Me" by Frank Sinatra. We gave out the trophy to Papa and Auntie Pam...the picture of Papa dancing melted all of our hearts.

What a fun filled day. You boys were still a little under weather, but all in all you did well, and there were many laughs.

You guys slept over at Mimi and Pop Pop's house while Auntie Shar Shar, Auntie J, and I left at 10pm to begin our shopping spree. That's for another post.
