Valmatimes Day (Parker's Words)

I have not left the house since Sunday evening, so I have not had the opportunity to buy a card for my honey. This will be our 12th Valentine's Day together. When we celebrated our first one we were 17 years old, and Erik surprised me with a tape (that's right, a tape) of a love song and a personal message recorded on there. I must have listened to that tape 1,000 times!

10 Reasons why I dated Erik in high school

1) He had cute hair (for back then!)
2) He helped me with my math homework
3) He always made me laugh
4) I could be myself around him
5) He always smelled so good! (Woods from Abercrombie-how 90's is that?)
6) He was the kind of Christian I always tried to be
7) He encouraged me to continue to have relationships with friends
8) He didn't think my family was weird
9) He made me feel pretty
10) He made me a priority

10 Reasons why I love him now...

1) He is the most consistent person I know
2) He is the kindest person I know (sometimes I take advantage of this!)
3) He makes me laugh (and joins in when I laugh at him)
4) He sees my faults and loves me anyway. He never judges me, and always forgives.
5) He listens when I talk (or at least he has learned to act like it)
6) He doesn't think my family is weird (although he says they stalk me because they call so much)
7) He makes me feel pretty...even when I'm in pj's and pigtails, and I'm doused in applesauce, juice, or jelly.
8) He cleans up vomit, changes diapers, irons his own clothes, and picks up toys.
9) He is the same person at home as he is at church.
10) He has these blue eyes and lopsided grin that melt my heart!

Happy Valentines Day! I hope you have a great time with your man tonight.

p.s. I love the one thing you said about Erik. He is the same at home as he is at the church. That is very important and not all pastors are like that. We are the lucky ones~!

I remember talking to you for the first time and you talking about Erik and me talking about Joel (we were in the wonderful CBC cafeteria)..... It is so funny to me that we both ended up marrying those men!
