Parker woke up and said "Happy Thanksgivng Mommy."

This is Erik and my 14th Valentine's day together. We celebrated our first one on a Wednesday in 1996 as seniors in high school. He came to my home, woke me up from an afternoon nap, and surprised with candy and a tape of a love song (yes, a tape. I did say it was 1996). That night in youth service the youth pastor let him go to the front and he called me up there and gave me a rose and a card.

There is no such thing as a perfect relationship, because it is made up of imperfect people. I didn't marry a perfect man, but I did marry one that was perfect for me. Erik and I got married fairly young, and I think that when you're that inexperienced in life and love, bumps in the road are inevitable. As we have matured as individuals, we've grown to appreciate differences, and we've given one another grace with shortcomings. The journey has been adventurous, but love always hopes, it never keeps a record of wrong, it always perseveres, and it is not self seeking (1 Corinthians 13). I'm glad God has given me Erik, who has shown me what that means.

There is NO ONE that I respect more than my SEXY Valentine. I love you, Erik Paul.

P.S. As a special V-tines day gift from Kent, he pooped on the potty all by himself for the first time.

Yah for Kent! I bet he didn't play with it this time! :}

It is so true. No one is perfect, but I did marry the one that was PERFECT for me!

P.S. at least Parker knew today was something special. Good try buddy!

Marriage is not easy and never perfect but my dad always told me... don't marry the one you can live with but marry the one you can't live without.
