It's Official...

I am hereby declaring that Kent is potty trained for #1. I will post again when he has mastered #2. Until then, I will continue to have to wash out multiple pairs of super hero underwear a day.

As far as Parker goes, it seems as if he has been stricken with an odd phobia. I have been trying to work with him on his aim in the bathroom. Everyday I have to get down on my hands and knees and wipe around the toilet base, the floor, and even the wall. He has issues hitting the target. I was explaining to him the necessity of directing the firearm down, as to minimize the mess made elsewhere. He told me that is not possible for him because he only has two hands. According to Parker, he has to hold the seat up with one hand, and his shirt up with the other. I then proceeded to show my almost five year old, that the seat will stay up on its own, therefore freeing the use of one hand. Negative. Parker said that he is too scared of the seat falling down and hurting his fragile anatomy, so he makes sure it doesn't by holding it in an upright stable position. Is that a normal fear for little boys? I honestly have no idea.

I have heard of these little flushable things (some people use cheerios) that you actually put in the toilet to help the boys aim better. But I really don't know what they are called, maybe someone else knows. Also, maybe you could get like a clip or something that could be placed on the toilet and seat that Parker could use to clip the seat on the toilet before he goes. That would give him more of a secure feeling. And maybe you could have a couple of clothes pins near the toilet that he could use to pin his shirt up while he goes. In no time he will be big enough that none of these issues will come up anymore.

Go Kent, and as for Parker, throw some Cheerios in the toliet and make it a game for him to aim at them. When he does reward him with something. Extra TV time or candy. Eventually he will have perfect aim. Oh, and try having daddy help. After all he may know better lol

Bethany, that is too funny! Jonathan has told me the exact same thing about the seat falling, and I am having the same "aiming" problems with him! What is weird though is he never thought of the seat falling before~it has only been the last month or two!

I heard a good idea. Put a handful of cheerios in a jar and have him throw one in and then try to hit it like a target. Just might improve his aim. Now maybe I can get my husband to try this...hmmmm!
