Psalm 16:5

"For he has assigned my portion and cup and has made my lot secure".
This is on of the most influential Scriptures that I have read in my life. It is one that I quote constantly to myself. It is one that gives me confidence, increases my faith, and reminds me that God is in control. When insecurity rears it's ugly head, this verse is my weapon. God has specifically chosen my path and it is one that I can be secure in because it's His plan. He has designated circumstances in my life, and nothing can happen to me that is outside the sovereignty of the Creator. These words bring me comfort and peace.

I Corinthians 15:58

"Therefore my brothers, stand firm. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, for you know your work is not in vain."
This is also one of the most influential Scriptures that I have read in my life. It is my anthem in ministry and reminds me that God has called me to work for Him. Even when results are minimal, my work is blessed by God and does not return empty. It reminds me to stand firm when storms come and when the enemy attempts to derail me. It convicts me to give myself fully even when I am discouraged, tired, or frustrated with life. The Holy Spirit constantly repeats to me, "stand firm Bethany. stand firm".

I have hidden these two verses in my heart and they have certainly been a lamp unto my feet and have shed light to my messy path. Thank you Jesus for your word that lifts me up, that challenges me, and that reminds me of your love for me. I am so glad that God's words are powerful and true. They have sincerely changed my life.

I often forget to look at God's master plan for my life when things aren't going well but if we step back to focus on the big picture our problems they are just a spec of the painting.

okay..i'm dumb and deleted sharon's comment previous to my previous one..hee hee. i was trying to copy and paste it so i could have a record of nice things she said about me for the next time we get into an argument and i ended up deleting instead of copying. but basically she said nice things, and that prompted my sarcastic response. now it all doesn't make sense and i'm a waster of time.
