Dominick's Redeemed

I ordered a cafe sandwich platter from Dominick's for my sister's personal shower on Friday. The morning of the party, I called the deli to confirm that I wanted my sandwiches cut into halves instead of thirds like originally designed. I reiterated to the associate how important it was to have halves instead of thirds. She promised me that my request would be honored.

When I arrived at Dominick's an hour before the party was to begin, you can imagine my dismay when I saw the sandwiches cut into thirds. I was polite, but I calmly asked to see a manager. The deli manager came to see me, but I immediately asked for the store manager. I explained my frustration, and he could see that I was beside myself. On my order form, it was clearly written "Half not thirds", but the sandwich maker ignored the instructions.

The manager said they did not have the ingredients to make a new platter, nor did they have the staff to spare. I made sure he knew that I expected Dominick's to provide a service that I was paying them to accomplish. He gave me the sandwiches for free (which totaled $80), but I honestly was not looking for that. I wanted halves!!

All in all, the cafe sandwich platter from Dominick's was a huge hit. Everyone kept asking where I got them. There were three sandwiches..turkey and cheese, roast beef and provolone, and an Italian combo. The bread was delicious, the meat was hearty, and the dressing on each one was the perfect addition.

Dominick's redeemed themselves by correcting their error, and I highly recommend their deli for any event.

The end.
