Today is the celebration of 8 years of marriage for me and Erik. I first saw him the summer of '88, first talked to him the summer of '95, and went on our first date that fall. Now here we are, the summer of '08, 20 years after I first laid eyes on him. I'm glad I struggled in Math my Senior year, and that Erik was willing to help a confused soul like me. Who knew what one tutoring session in the back of the youth room at church would lead to a lifetime together?
I could go on and on about how great my husband is, but I'll save that for the card I bought him. I'll just say this, he is truly the same person at work and at home, and I have never met a more faithful and loyal person. He is committed to his Lord, despite the circumstances he's dealt with. He is committed to me, despite the project I can sometimes be. He is committed to his boys, despite the work that parenting entails. He is committed to his calling, despite some of the struggles involved. He is committed to his students, despite the energy it requires. He is committed to growing, learning, and becoming who God wants him to be.
I just want the world to know that I am blessed to have married the love of my life, and the best friend I've ever known. It is funny to look back 8 years, and to think about how much we didn't know about life and love when we first were married. We've learned much on our journey, and I know we have more growing to do.
No one knows me better, and no one loves me more...and for that I am grateful.

Congratulaions on your Anniversary! Marriage is such a blessing isn't it... and fun too, especially if you're married to your best friend! You 2 are great for eachother... and you are a team that makes a huge difference in this world... you have on me! Thank you!
My sister met her hubby in a similar way... Chris was Holly's math tutor too! Except in college.
God Bless you both!
congrats! we just celebrated 9 years. I think it is funny to see how much about life and love we didn't know back then. With all the craziness going on these days, having a strong marriage is such a blessing and hard to come by. Go out and celebrate!!!!
Congrats!!!!
Although I find it mildly humorous that when I came to your page your jukebox was playing "we are the champions!" at a high rate of speed.
God Bless you both! You are both tremendous people and are an outstanding team!
Happy Anniversary! God truly made the two of you for each other:-)
