I think I've finally decided that I need to know if I am an extrovert or an introvert. Several times in college and in ministry positions, we'd have to take these personality tests to help determine what type of people we were. Every time I'd mark myself as an extrovert. I think that the ministry has tailored my social dynamic to be that of an extrovert, but deep down, I am convinced I'm the opposite. I like definition. I like black and white. I am secure in labels. Therefore, I have been trying to determine what type of social individual I am. I think it is safe to say that I am an introvert. ..some of the time. If I am in a situation in which I do not know anyone, I usually will wait for someone to speak to me...that is unless, I am in the confines of a church building, where my role suggests that I be the initiator of conversation. I am actually a fairly shy person. Being in a new place does not energize me, like it would an extrovert. It intimidates me, and causes my nerves to heighten. I am drawn to true extroverts, because they make me feel comfortable to open up. My husband is an extrovert. He has no fear of going to new places or being with new people. Just the other day we were with neighbors at their BBQ and while my husband socialized with strangers, I hung out with the kids. Within my family circle, I am an extreme extrovert, and there is not a timid bone in my whole body. When I am with students, I take on more of an extroverted role. So what am I? I have to decided!
I think I'll label myself as an extroverted introvert.

Bethany, I've always known you as an extrovert! I think back on all of our wild and crazy adventures in college and how much fun we had! You were so outgoing! Especially our Sophomore year in college when we lived in Flower. If we didn't strike up the fun on our floor I think it would have felt like we lived in a convent! Ha! Just kidding!
Okay, so I can see a little bit of introvert in you too. I like your definition an extroverted introvert! :)
I think your definition is good. An extroverted introvert.
I personally think you are good with talking to people you don't really know. Like me. :} Or was that easier for you because I am a youth pastor's wife too and have been raised in the church? Do I fall into that church frame?! :}
I would say you're an extrovert. Most people are more quiet around people they don't know, but for the most part, you're an extrovert b/c you can open up and have fun with people! And I totally miss hanging out with you!
