Fun with the boys

Erik and I put Parker to bed last night, and we had quite an interesting conversation. Erik covered the "booger confrontation" in his blog, so you can read about that incident on his page. Parker was asking about where he was going to live when he was a daddy. I told him he would live in his own house, with this own wife and children. He looked at Erik and I, and his big blue eyes began to water. "But I not want to live by myself. I want to live with mommy and daddy" I'll just have to remind him of this dialog when he is a teenager, and "can't wait to leave this house".

Then Erik and I do this routine where I kiss one side of Parker's face, and Erik the other, and we give him twenty kisses simultaneously. We call it "twenty kisses" ( we are so creative!). Parker acts like he dreads it, but I can see his mouth turned upward in a smile every time. He said, "ughh that make me busy." (he obviously meant dizzy, which made it even more adorable).

Then Kenters, our lovely Kenters, woke up at 2am and did not go back to sleep until about 6am. I really don't like putting him in bed with us, but when he's been screaming for two hours, and I've gotten out of bed a dozen times, I usually give in. I reserve this measure for the most extreme circumstances. Last night, I put him between Erik and I and he seemed calm for a few minutes. But, the second I turned my back to him, he screamed. He wanted my face next to his and my arms around him. Well, that's only comfortable for so long. When I'd shift positions, he wasn't content, and he'd start screaming again. Around 5:30 am, I was tired of him laying horizontal in our bed, and I put him in his crib with a sippee cup of water. He slept then until 7am. He woke up like nothing ever happened, ate two waffles for breakfast, and went downstairs to play. He's not acting sick, so what's the reason behind his sleepless night?

i think his sleepless night is due to a desire for some humor...watching you and erik share your bed

Do you think he had a nightmare?

Awww...that's sweet that Kent wants to be close to you, but I understand the restlessness isn't fun. Ronnie doesn't like me allowing the boys to come in bed with us at night, but sometimes I have to give in!

Ur boys are so cute. I remember getting scared and laying in bed with my parents. I always felt so much better. LOL

I know it is a pain in the butt, but soon they will be all grown up and out of the house!

I can't wait! haha at least for right now! haha

Who knows why they suddenly decide not to sleep. Bella slept horribly Fri - Sun nights and then last night it was back to her normal routine 7-7.. we prayed pretty hard for it! :)
