'Tis the Season

Christmas is less than a week away. We have an advent calendar that has 25 windows with one chocolate inside each one. Every day Parker looks forward to opening a window, eating a chocolate, and then seeing how many more days are left. We've started referring to Christmas as "six chocolates" or "five chocolates" away.

I am so anxious to see how Kent is going to react this Christmas. Last year, he was just learning how to sit. He enjoyed the wrapping paper left over from each present. I tried to buy him thins that he would recognize, such as a dinasour and Teletubbie books. When he sees something that interests him, he simply says, "Woooow." He suprisingly has not touched the tree very much, but considering the fact that I initially spanked his hand six times in six seconds the night the tree went up, I think he got the message.

Parker is still anxious about all the gifts and presents. Every time he sees a gift, he asks, "Is that for me?" I took him to the $ store so he could pick out presents for his teachers and grandparents with his own money. He walked around the store for about an hour filling his green basket with special items. My personal favorite is the toliet bowl brush he chose for my mom. I asked him to re-consider, but it was pink, and he said, "My mimi will love it, cause she likes this color."

We had Parker's pre-school program at school today and of course, our shorty was in the front row with all the girls. Parker sang loudly, while Kent screamed in the audience.

Tonight we are going caroling with the studetns, tomorrow I have a cooking exchange to attend, Friday we are having family night and watching Transformers, Saturday is Christmas with the Mangialardi's, Sunday is Church, Monday is Christmas with the Eltons, Tuesday is Christmas with the Scottbergs, Wed is recoop day, Thursday is downtown with my small group, Friday is the progressive dinner and sleep over with the students, Saturday is Mangialardi girls sleepover, Sunday is church, and Monday is New Year's with friends. I need a break just from typing all of that...

I'm sure I'll need a break after living through this marathon week and a half.

Hey. I hear what your saying about having something everyday. The past two weeks were like that for us. Starting tomorrow it starts again!!! I am sure your boys were great to watch in their christmas show. Our churchs childrens program was last sunday night and it was sooooo funny. I love kids! I hope you are able to stay calm during all the crazyness. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
