I was struck this morning by how much Kent has grown in these last few months. I can carry on actual two way conversations with him. I am declaring him 85 % potty trained, and I think he is officially out of his terrible two's...and they were terrible. Kent is still feisty and mischevious, but he is accepting instruction and learning to use his words when he is frustrated. I enjoy this more mature form of my almost three year old, but I am a little sad to see the baby stages come to a close. He initiates "I love You's", and he says "I have a great idea! Let's work together" whenever I declare clean up time.

My favorite is when he says his prayers at night. They go something like this "Thank you Jesus for my mom, my dad, and Parka. Thank you that I play outside and for the Bible." Then, when Erik or I are praying he closes his eyes and nods his head in agreement. He usually asks me to rub his back, and he requests the three same songs every night. The ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, and Jingle Bells, are his favorite tunes and I have to sing them in that exact order. If I miss a line, or sing to fast, he makes me start over.

Kenters, I love you with all my heart. I love that you come in bed every morning with us and steal my pillow and covers. I love that you play with dominoes for hours, and always want to engage in some kind of creative scenarios. I love how you sing when you talk and how when you know what you want, you don't stop until you get it (reminds me of someone else I know). My prayer for you is that you continue to stand up for what you believe in, and that you be unwilling to compromise when it comes time to fight for your faith. I pray that God protects the seed that has been planted in your heart, and that your dad and I be faithful to water it continually. I know that you will be like Paul, who even though faced with adversity, did not give up or give in. You are a fighter, and you will be a warrior for Jesus and for His cause.
