Listen to the Pheasant Princess sermon series by Mark Driscoll. I have listened to two of the ten messages on the Song of Solomon, and have been convicted, challenged, and inspired.
I have found Pastor Driscoll to be true to the literal translation of Scripture, and practical in applying the principles to every day life. Some people find his messages to be a bit harsh, but I appreciate the honesty, boldness, and transparency in which he communicates. There is no beating around the bush with him.
Here are some thoughts from his first two messages: "Let Him Kiss Me", and "Sweet to My Taste". There are topics on marriage, dating, sex, and relationships...probably one of the most profound insights I've heard preached on these subjects.
1)The average person is first exposed to internet porn at the age of 11. If we wait until our children are in the later years of Jr. High to talk to them about sex, it's probably too late. The ages of 12-19 are the largest viewers of porn in the world.
2)America spends more money on porn than we do on all professional sports each year.
3)We spend more on porn than on foreign aid.
4)Marriage is to make us holy, not just happy. If you are not happy in your marriage, you are still required to be holy.
5)Men, kiss your wives often. Kiss them in public, and let the world know that they belong to you. Don't kiss them like you do your great grandma. Kiss them good!
6)Men, if you are not getting what you need where you need it (fill in the details), than ask your wife, "What is it about my character that is turning you off?"
7)Satan wants people to think that a life submitted to Jesus is full of suffering. Jesus says a life with Him is full of freedom with no shame.
8)A man's standard for beauty should be his wife. If his standard was skinny and now his wife is fat, that means the man's standard should change. (See, I told you Pastor Driscoll was good!)
9)A husband should have a running commentary on what his wife is doing good. He likened it to a sports announcer noticing every detail.."Honey, I love the way you look when you are washing dishes. Honey, I love how you look when you're putting the kids in and out of the carseat..."
Anyways, instead of date nights, I want Erik and I to listen to the 10 messages together. They are funny, thought provoking, and above all, they remind me that Jesus is the first lover of my soul, and that my husband is a gift from God to me.

How is it possible to be so far away from each other and so alike??? I've been listening to these also and they are so FABULOUS! Wait until you get to the Dance of the Maha...something or other (can't spell it). SO GOOD! I also had the thought of listening to these instead of date night. Our life's similarities are just plain scary! Are you going to be at General Council by any chance?
I am so glad you are enjoying him... (after you picked yourself up off the floor ) heehee.... I respect him a lot!!
