Three Men and a Lady

There are a couple of reasons why the Cubs are in a negative predicament. A team is never going to win a game when the starting pitcher walks seven, or when each member of the infield has a recorded error for the evening. I truly appreciate Zambrano's effort last night, and in my book, his stock just went up. Yes, he made a few bad pitches, but when his two solid infielders make consecutive errors, he just shook his head and smiled as if to say, "This would only happen to me." He remained in the game 100% until the end, and for that I give him credit. I wholeheartedly disagree though with Lou who allowed him to bat in the 7th...come on. Put in Fontenot and give us a chance!

I think one of the disadvantages is that the Dodgers have been in playoff mode this entire month as they chased Arizona. The Cubs, on the other hand, have been in the vacation mindset...and it shows. I kind of wish they wouldn't have clinched so early. Lou's biggest mistake may have been the underuse of the starters these past two weeks.

Regardless, I'm a Cubs fan. That means I have loyalty that I don't even understand combined with zero expectation for good results.

I could go on and on..Fukudome (Puke-a-dome or Fukudummy as my family affectionately refers to him) looks like he's never seen a baseball. I don't care if he is an outstanding right fielder, because I could probably hit better than him. He is supposedly out there due to his defensive skills, but when given the opportunity, he couldn't even throw out a runner at the plate. BENCH HIM, and put in my mom. We'd have a better chance.
