Happy Free Candy day. Parker is Thomas the Train today, and he is not too happy about it. I bought the costume in November of last year and it cost $2. Well, who knew that at 4 1/2 years old boys become to mature for Thomas? Parker informed me that Thomas the Train was for three year olds and that cowboys were for four year olds. I insisted that he be Thomas because that's what we had, and there is no sense is spending money on a costume when we have a perfectly good one already. I also may have taken some liberty with the truth and explained that Thomas the Trains tend to get more candy than the average costume. That seemed to pacify him. Kent is Superman (it is his namesake afterall), as he was last year and the year before. He is clueless so far, and all he cares about is taking off the cape.
They are so excited to give candy to their friends at school and church, and of course, they can't wait to get their hands on some sugar of their own!

I LOVE thomas the train!! I remember when we had Jaime and Niki. Jaime LOVED LOVED Thomas the Train! Niki liked him too, but they thought all the trains were thomas...they were not aloud to be anyone else! ;}
It is funny that even at a young age kids are "too cool" for stuff. Good job for stick'n to your guns.
We aren't taking Josiah out this year. We have lots of packing to do. Josiah would LOVE to be Thomas! Every train is Thomas to Josiah. Well, good luck and have lots of fun!
What a good idea! Tell him he'll get more candy.. you made me Laugh out loud!
He should switch with my nephew Luke... he is 3 and a cowboy :) I won't tell Parker!
Brayden was also Thomas the Train this year, because I bought him the costume last year and he refused to wear it (and therefore didn't go trick-or-treating). This year went over much better, but I honestly think he would rather stay home and hand out candy than go trick-or-treating. He still gets candy either way so he doesn't really care.
