I'm too young to be this old.

I knew I was going to have a hard day today. I've been dreading this day. Not simply because of the year, but because this is the first birthday I remember my parent's celebrating. I can vividly recall my dad's 30th birthday party. It was hosted at the home of my aunt, and I was 8, Sharon was 7, and Janna was 1. This day I finally feel like I've become my parents. There used to be this great divide between us..they were old and I was young. Now I am their age.

I wish I had some profound and reflective thoughts as I leave one decade, and enter in to another. But, these next ten years are probably going to look seemingly like the past ten years. I'll be a wife, I'll raise children, I'll work, and I'll serve in the ministry.

More than all the things I'll do these next ten years, I desperately want to work on who I'll be. I want to depend on God more than I did, I want to listen more that I have been, and I want to have faith that is greater than now.
