This is how boys play outside. It is always messy, and it always involves dirt. Every outside adventure is followed immediately by a trip to the bathtub. Here they are making soup out of water, mulch, dirt, and rocks. Parker's job was to stir the soup with a baseball bat, and Kent's job was to retrieve the ingredients from under the deck. After it was cooked, they offered me some, and I politely pretended to digest their concoction.

Ahhh to be a kid again. Nothing more relaxing than an afternoon of making mud stew!

So cute. This isn't just a boy thing though. I remember doing this with my sister. (I was the stirrer.) We added a much-needed, fragrant ingredient though, Dog Poo.

we made mud pies when we were younger and we remember that...Parker will remember his mommy letting him play in the dirt! I love kents face when he's holding the yellow bucket...he is so precious...
