I had my first panic attack on Sunday morning. I literally could not breathe for several moments. I was all dressed for church and I went into Kent's drawers to get out his clothes, and what did I see? Ants. In his clothes and drawers. I froze for a second. Then screamed. Then called my mommy and daddy and cried.
I then opened up the yellow pages (my computer takes 10 years to turn on), and began calling down the list of exterminators. Calling on a Sunday, with a holiday following the next day, it was impossible to get a hold of anyone. Fortunately by the time I got to the K's, Ken's Pest Control answered their phone. By 4:00 that afternoon the inside and the outside of my home was being sprayed for ants. And I have only seen one escaped ant since.
Erik indicated that I may have overreacted a bit. I'm sorry, but ants in drawers is a legitimate reason to panic. Don't you think?
I think we've figured out that the ants were living in mulch I bought; a huge thanks goes out to Home Depot for that. I think they owe me $145 for the exterminator and $50 for the detergent and water I used to wash everything we own.

Oh man I am so sorry!
Let me know what Home Depot has to say. ;}
I'm glad the problem is solved. Just think now everything is cleaned!
We have the same problem here because we are in the prairie lands. But none in drawers thank God, I would have reacted worse!
OH MY GOSH --- the same thing happened to me today, except thankfully it wasn't in our drawers, but we had like an entire colony right by our patio doors in our eat in area. And, last week Bella left a snack cup w/ goldfish in the play room and when I went to pick it up it was FULL of ants and ants crawling all around it. I feel for ya, I really do b/c I feel like I've had ants crawling on me all day. I was @ Target this a.m. as soon as the doors opened buying RAID spray and ant colony house killers. UGH, I hate ants, HATE HATE HATE.
So...I'm curious to know if you did call home depot and if so what did they say?! haha
I hope you have not had any more ants!
I completely understand... when a problem just draggs on, it wears you out! Justified circumstances for a panick attack!
