I am wondering how a person who feels unequipped and unqualified for a task, gains confidence. I often find myself shrinking back from opportunity because I am afraid that I don't have what it takes. I firmly believe that the enemy knows my weakness, and constantly plagues me with thoughts of insecurity and inadequacy. I also firmly believe that because I have invited Jesus to be a part of my life, that his Holy Spirit can help me fight the never ending battle in my mind. What I love most about the Bible is that it is my verbal weapon against the war. I have found it so helpful to read Scripture and quote it, not only to remind myself of what it says, but to remind my opponent.
I Corinthians 12:9-His grace is enough for me. In my weakness, His power is perfect.
Jeremiah 29:11-He desires for me to succeed and prosper.
Psalm 16:5-He has secured my future.
Psalm 16:8-When He is at my side, I cannot be shaken.

Too weird! I kind of wrote about this same thing because I am taking on a new role tomorrow...thank you for those verses, very encouraging:-)
hmmm i have been talking to someone about this same topic!
Keep fighting the good fight and I am sure your reward will be much greater than the struggle. Look at Moses, God asked everything from him and then some, he too questioned his purpose but God used him for something bigger than his fears, he brought a nation out of slavery into the promise land. Speak to your mountain and declare your victory!
You are more than adequate to do what God wants you to do....don't let the devil put these dumb thoughts in your head....turn on some worship music and get alone with God and don't let anything interfere.....
I love how you stated the Bible is your "verbal weapon"...it really emphasizes the power of God's word. I just put something on my blog today that is on this subject matter. Funny timing of it being placed on my heart!
