I cannot find the perfect pair of jeans. In 1999 I found a pair of jeans at Old Navy that I adored. But, I wore them out and when I went to buy another pair, they were discontinued. In 2006 I found another perfect pair of jeans from Old Navy. I still wear them, but I've realized my needed to have another pair. Those two are the only "perfect" jeans I've ever owned. I've currently been on the hunt since July and have come up emptied handed.
I have tried on jeans at Express, Gap, Areopostle, New York and Company, and Old Navy. I've come up with nothing. I avoid department stores because they either have the women's section, which is too big for me, or the junior section, which doesn't include jeans made for people who've had babies.
This is my criteria..I don't want my jeans painted on. I like a little room for comfort, but I don't want to be sagging like a gangster. After two children in three years, my jeans need to be a little forgiving in the tummy area, but I have the Elton behind which means I have none. So, if I buy jeans to fit my waist, then they are baggy everywhere else. I also am only 5'3" tall, but for some odd reason God forgot to give me a torso and gave me an extra dose of legs. I need the petite size jeans for the rest of me, but ones that are long enough so I don't look like I'm wading in knee deep flood water. Petite longs, and preferably flare...who makes those?
The way my jeans fit on a particular morning can make or break my mood. If I feel like I'm constantly having to pull up my pants, I get annoyed. If I feel like my pants are going to bust after one sip of coffee, I am uncomfortable the rest of the day.
I don't like stretchy jeans because after a half hour of wearing them, they are two sizes bigger than the tag says. I don't like jeans with no pockets, or ankles that are tapered. I'm not into the "skinny jeans" thing because I'm not 16. So, where does that leave me?
I need a good pair of jeans...any suggestions? I know there are bigger things in life to worry about. I wish it were acceptable to wear sweatpants all day..the kind with the elastic ankle. Those were my favorite.

Bethany,
I am in the same boat with you on the jeans subject! I just found a cute pair of jeans at Maurices. They come in short regular and long. Thanks for coming on Saturday - It really meant alot to me! I will give you a call today or tomorrow.
Love you,
Fergie
I actually have tried Maurice's jeans. In fact the pair I was wearing yesterday were from there. They fit when I bought them, but now they've stretched so much I can't keep them up. They fit okay if I wear them right out of the dryer though. Ugggggg.
Land's End actually has some nice jeans...I don't know if you have Sears around you but ours has a Land's End store inside of it. I found a very cute pair that fit great and I think they were around $40. (I know jeans are something hard to buy online but I've also had good luck buying online at Land's End using the measurements they give for sizing.)
I get most all my pants from "The Limited". I usually have to wait until they have a special going on, or when I get their coupons in the mail because you do pay more than other stores. However, I have found they are very well tailored, and the people who work at the store are always very helpful.
I never have bought jeans at "The Buckle", but I have heard it is a good place. My brother told me they are really good at helping you find a pair that fits, and I guess if the length isn't right, they alter them for you for free.
Good Luck!
i just pray for them and God puts them in my closet. You should try it, it works really well.
I don't know if you are a big fan of American Eagle. I don't really shop their anymore because their shirts are so tight or too big. BUT I do have good luck with their jeans. I know it is a "teen" store, but I also have a hard time finding jeans. I am 5'2 and what fits my waist is too big in my thighs and butt. So just give it a shot...it won't hurt.
I hate shopping for clothes for me, period. So unfortunately I cannot be of much help. Don't get me wrong, I'd enjoy it if I could find things that fit properly and didn't create such a headache searching for any 'ole item. :0)
I sent you an email yesterday concerning you joining the Assembly of God Blogs. (I need you to add different code before I can move you to the members.) If you didn't get the email, please send me one or contact me via my personal blog "A Hoosier Family" http://hoosierfamily06.blogspot.com.
Thanks!
Hmmm...So you don't like Gap jeans? Because they have this great relaxed fit...and Gap are my fave. Sorry...can't help ya.
I agree..... I love stretchy but they only work when right out of the dryer.... I am on the same hunt. Good luch!
My suggestion is to go to a TJMaxx or Marshalls when you have some time (like you have time w/ 2 boys, HAHA!) and shop in the clearance section for a more expensive brand like Seven or Citizen for Humanity or Chip and Pepper. Actually, one of my friends does really well with Chip and Pepper jeans and she seems to need the same fit you described. If you do buy stretch buy them one size smaller and then they'll stretch to fit you perfectly. I've found some great buys there and they always seem to fit just perfectly.
Buckle is also another good suggestion but they are pretty pricey, but if you find the perfect pair and it sounds like you wear them for a long time so it would probably be worth it to you.
I also hate shopping for jeans but my problems are way different than yours! I actually have found Vigoss in the juniors section at JCPennys that I really like, but they have several different styles so you have to try on a few pair to find one that fits right. But I'm 5'7" and have a huge butt, so I'm kind of the opposite of you so I don't know if that helps at all! I have had a child though and they don't fit like typical juniors jeans - I can't get most of those over my hips to save my life!
