Our family is going to be away this weekend and we are going to be in three separate locations. Kent is going to Grandma's, Parker is going to his cousin's, and Erik and I are going to a retreat for youth pastors. We are leaving tomorrow, but I am trying to do laundry and pack today. Somewhere during that chaos I will also attempt to work for about 4 hours today. Ideally, I'll be able to dust furniture and wash floors as well. And, in a perfect world, I'll tackle my closet. To close out the evening, I'll be going to the youth service tonight, and escorting Parker to the first Rainbow's session of the school year.

This is where I wish I could be more like a man for once. It seems like men think only about what they are currently doing; it is called compartmentalized thinking. When Erik is working, he is working. When he is relaxing, he is relaxing. When he is mowing the lawn, he is mowing the lawn. When I'm dusting, I'm thinking about what to buy for groceries. When I'm buying groceries, I'm thinking about what bills need to be paid. When I'm paying bills, I'm thinking about what needs to be cleaned. When I'm cleaning, I'm thinking about how to handle a particular issue with the boys. So and and so forth.

I wish my mind wouldn't overlap it's compartments. I think I'd find it to be less stressful.

I feel ya sista! When we go to bed Noah falls asleep in 2.3 seconds and I am left awake for atleast a half hour thinking of the day's events and what I have to do the next day. Have fun on your retreat!
