On Friday morning Kent threw up six times in less than three hours. We were at my parent's house when this pleasantry occurred.

Growing up, we never really had pets. I accidentally killed our pet bunny, I mistakenly let one bunny run away, my sister and I unintentionally starved our bird to the point that it literally squeezed through the bars of it's cage and flew around our house until our neighbor came and caught it, and unless you count the occasional fish, our pet adoptions ceased by the time we were ten years old. It is not a secret that Erik and I are not animal lovers, and I contribute that largely to my upbringing.

But, five years ago my parents bought a black lab. Kobi and I officially HATE each other. The dog is as big as a horse, it sheds constantly, and it stalks me and the boys when we visit my parents. He is extremely obtrusive and he always wakes my boys up from their naps with his incessant barking.

Every time Kent would throw up (you try getting a two year old to puke in a toilet or a bucket) on my parent's hard wood floors, carpet, or leather couches, that DUMB dog would come and try to lick it up! It was repulsive, and I don't know which grossed me out more...cleaning up vomit, or a dog trying to eat it.

On the way home from Mimi and Pop Pop's house, Parker said, "I wish for I could have a dog."

When pigs fly...or when dogs clean themselves, feed themselves, wipe themselves, work so they can earn their stay, don't smell, and don't shed.

kobi was only trying to help! At least he didn't try for the clean up and THEN go for a smooch. yech. I hope the little man is feeling better!

Awe.
I'm sorry you have had bad experiences with pets.
I would have put the dog in one room and shut the door. Of course you couldn't do that while taking care of a sick boy. :{
How did the wedding go? Do you have any pictures?!
I hope Kent is feeling better!

Awe poor Kent, I hope he's feeling better.
BTW... as you know I love my kitties... but I feel pretty similar to the way you do about dogs... they stink slobber shed ridicoulously and leave presents in your lawn. I know Mike would really like one someday though... yikes!
