If I see one more ant in my house, I am going to go bonkers. I have bleached my entire floor because a colony of ants decided to take up residence by the deck door, and then decided to explore my kitchen.
What role do ants play in the eco chain? Are they necessary for the circle of life to continue? I hope not because if that's the case, I put a serious kink in that. I must have killed a few thousand.
I also made chocolate chip cookies this weekend..let me rephrase that. I ATTEMPTED to make chocolate chip cookies. They came out as flat as pancakes. Yes, I used the correct amount of baking soda and flour. I just don't have the touch. I'm a mom who can't make the basic after school snack. Mrs. Cleaver would revoke my mothering license.

Kill all the ants. I hate them. I don't see their purpose. I know they do have one, but still I don't like them. I kill ANY bug, spider or whatever that comes NEAR my house. Then I always say, "God, I know I am not the one who decides when they are supposed to die, but if they keep coming by my house I will make that choice for them!" haha
I'm sorry about your cookies. I'm sure they will come out better the next time. Keep trying!!!!
I remember when I first made my moms oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, I was so careful to make sure I did everything right. After ALL the hard work they ended up burning and looking horrible. But, I kept trying and now I make some MEAN OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES! (If I can say so myself!) My husband seems to really like them so that always helps!
Try using HOME DEFENSE. You can buy it at Home Depot, etc. You spray it around the exterior of the house.
One time I think my cookies came out flat and I think it might have been b/c I sprayed my non-stick cookie sheet with PAM that you're not supposed to spray. It just made them spread out. But, you never know, sometimes our brains are so fried that we forget ingredients or put in the wrong amounts!
And hooray for killing ants - I can't stand insects!
These ants are driving me crazy too!!! They just never stop!!! Grrr... I've just given up, and accepted them as our new household pets. LOL. Maybe I'll go buy them some chew toys.
Oh, and I'm with you on the baking thing. I can cook up some mean dishes, but for some reason cannot bake worth anything! They either burn or crumble or just plain taste nasty. I would've thought you'd be great at baking! You are so good at everything else. Oh well. Secret's safe w/ me. xoxo
Those ants are very annoying... sometimes I look down and see a couple milling around...then mike follows up with terro the ant poison. It's just that time of year!
