The boogey man is out to get me..

It's 5:35 a.m. and I've been up for over an hour. Erik left for church this morning at 4:45 to take the 8th grade academy students to Springfield for the day.

I promise I heard a noise in the mud room after he left, and then I was too scared to fall back asleep. I know we are taught not to use the word hate, but I HATE being home alone in the dark. Does that make me 12? The weeks when Erik is gone for camp, council, fine arts, conferences, or missions trips, I hardly sleep a wink.

Anyways today my dear friend Ischee is coming over for dinner and Survivor. I knew Ischee in college, but didn't develop a friendship with her until we were both in ministry in neighboring communities. She blesses my life because I can talk freely to her, and she encourages me to keep on keeping on. We are also celebrating her birthday this month, so Parker and I made her cake yesterday. I'm thankful for friends who help pass the time when the hubby is gone...it makes the day go by quicker.

LOL..Doesn't make you 12. I think everyone gets the heebie-jeebies from time to time. Growing up, my sister would collect literally every sharp knife in the house and put them under her pillow if no one was home when she went to bed.
It is always good to have good friends to help pass the time.

I don't like it when Chris is gone either. No matter how nice of the neighborhood, I still get nervous!

I am with you Bethany! I sleep with a night light on and keep a baseball bat next to the bed when Brian is gone...like a 5 foot girl could really scare somebody with a baseball bat...ha ha!

I am the same way when Ronnie is gone overnight. I either go and visit my parents or try to tough it out and sleep with my cell phone under my pillow in case someone tries to break in! I feel so paranoid and I try to stay up and read till my eyes can't be open any longer!

Tell Ischee I said hi! And I have some news for you!

I hate being without Joel too... I usually have the girls sleep with me.. but I swear I hear noises all night.... it is easier now that we have a big dog that would scare any creepy person away. Hope the time goes by fast for you!
