I am worried about the economy. I am worried that we are going to be standing in bread lines soon. I am worried that the next time I go to my bank to withdraw money, they are not going to have the funds. I am worried that we are headed for another depression. I watch too many news programs and listen to too many talk radio shows. I know I am not supposed to worry, because who can add to their life by expending energy on anxiety? But, I still do. Each day I thank God that He has provided for us, and I find myself expressing gratitude more often than before.

People will probably holler at me for this...but I think that we are supposed to worry. At least a little bit. I hope and pray that this economic dip doesn't fall too much further down the slope. I find it curious that the closer we come to falling into a recession, the more frantically I pray that we don't. I am always thankful for what God has blessed us with. And I am with you that I find myself thanking Him more often than before.

Yes...think about it...what if you quit work and were having a baby during this economy slump. I am concerned, but trying to trust. Don't watch too many news shows and become obsessed...kind of like that girl we know who is obsessed with storms...you don't want to be like her when it comes to the economy.

Rick and I were just talking about this the other day! I get worried at times myself, but then I think at least we know the Lord! I can't imagine going through what our country is going to go through and not know Jesus!!

Maybe this is what our country needs to see that money isn't everything! Yes, you need it to survive, but without Jesus their eternity is doomed!!

I agree with you. I watch too much news too..... I know that things are going to get harder and this next election really has me freaked.... I guess it is another lesson in trusting in God and not man. Sometimes that is hard to do. I just try and focus on other things like my children's health and happiness. Sometimes that helps!

Doesn't the bible say that in the end times there would be great distress on the earth. Famine, wars, rumors of wars, false prophets, etc. It's just the beginnig of the birth pangs and many of you know the birth pangs only get more intense and closer together the closer we get to birth or in this case the 2nd coming of Jesus. I know it seems scary because our lives are what we know and are familiar with. But can you just imagine Jesus coming back and establishing his kingdom in our generation some time soon. I think of my grandchildren, Parker, Kent and Kayla and I wonder what is in store for them in the days to come and all I can say is "I know my Redeemer lives" and in the end he will be victorious and we will be with him. I hope that as fellow Christ followers we can turn our worry into hope and pass that hope on to the people around us that God has appointed for us to minister to and encourage. Not in a fake way but with depth of understanding of their fears because we have been there and know we know the One who provides peace that passes all understanding in the midst of it all. What we see with our physical eyes is never what God sees. Pray that we as believers will beging to see the signs of the times with Spiritual eyes and understanding!

It can definitely be an overwhelming thought. Definitely. But I kinda look at the situation in a different light. You and I were blessed enough to begin our marriages and families during an incredible, record breaking upswing in our economy!Unfortunately, that rapid increase caused inflation. The US dollar is now very weak. So, a recession may actually be a good thing for our economy...it will balance things out where it's needed. It is definitely uncomfortable. And people who have lived it up these past couple decades, and perhaps have even lived beyond their means, will suddenly have to go back to the old-fashioned way of thinking. "If you don't have it, don't spend it." But, our economy has always gone thru trends. And we will again see growth in our economy. It's election year, so yes! The economy is a major topic on news networks. I agree with the others...turn those off! LOL! (Except for 890am...they are much more positive). Great post! xoxo
