Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?

Yesterday Parker took some cookies after I had told him not to. He then proceeded to hide the entire bag of cookies under his train table. When I became of aware of what he was doing, and I questioned him, and Parker told his first intentional lie.

I told him that he disobeyed and that he lied, and now after serving a time out, he is grounded from "sweets" for two days

Later on that evening, I told him the story of Adam and Eve. I relayed how God instructed Eve not to eat the apple, and she did anyway.

The light bulb went on, and Parker said, "Hey! Thad just like me!" Really? What a coincidence.

After the story I asked Parker if he knew what it meant to disobey.

He said, "Yes. It means I love God."

Aye Carumba!!

To brighten up my evening, my thoughtful husband brought home flowers for me. He knew I was a having a stressful day dealing with the boys. In the words of Salt and Peppa, "What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man."

Oh how sweet of Erik to bring you home flowers! You are a great mother Bethany and I'm taking lessons from you for the future. Your blogs are like a parenting book for me! :)

Oh, and now I have that song stuck in my head..."what a man, what a man, what mighty good man."

Isn't it crazy how early they learn how to lie? I've caught Josiah trying to lie to me a few times or hide things from me...why does it start so early? And props to Erik for the flowers! I don't even remember the last time I got flowers!!!
