Today

Parker had his "girlfriends" party today. It was a costume party and he went as a fireman. I had to run into Walgreen's on the way there to get Miriam a birthday card. As I was unbuckling Parker's seatbelt, he said, "I stay here." Of course I objected and made him come into the store with me. It dawned on me that he was embarrassed to go into a public location with his costume on. When did he become aware of what other's would think of him? I told him that everyone in Walgreens was excited to see a "real live fireman". He's demeanor instantly changed and with shoulders held high he marched into Walgreens with me.

Thanks to Sam for babysitting Kent for me. When you and Jim are all settled into the Condo, I'll come over and watch the place while the two of you enjoy a nice evening out. That's a fair trade, right?
