I wish I were a kid...

I took the boys to the park this morning. Parker rode his bike (he refuses to wear his helmet), and I pushed Kent in the stroller (he refuses to wear a hat). Kent had his first trip down the slide. I held him of course, but he was squealing with delight. Parker loves to climb the stairs and pause before he goes down the slide. He sees the stairs as the work before the payoff. Every time he'd get to the top, he'd yell for my attention. He wanted me to see how hard he worked to get up those steep stairs. Then I pushed Kent in the baby swing...it was so windy I hardly had to do any work. Parker and I then swung side by side. He on his stomach, and me the proper way. I was trying to show him how to pump and I got carried away. Before I knew it I was swinging so high and I was tempted to jump like I used to in grade school....okay fine, junior high. I got such a rush from those few minutes on the swing. Parker kept saying, "my turn, my turn". I kept saying , "one more minute, one more minute". Then I remembered why we made the trek there and I got off the swing and did my mother duty of pushing Kent with one hand and Parker with the other. One of these days I am going to the park by myself and swing until my heart is content!!!
